Brakes needed

I was told I needed brakes because the car will not stop.

Good afternoon.

Need more information.

Does the pedal go to the floor?

Did you check the fluid in the master cylinder?

What happened when you said it would not stop?

Please give me as much information as possible.

I really do not know. I want to buy the car from the guy but he tells me the car needs brakes. That is all I know about the problem. I was figuring the car would be a good buy at $1,000.00 and I was thinking if it cost me from $300.00 to $400.00 for the brakes, I would have gotten a good deal.

Okay, there are some many variables here that can cost you a lot more than that. I doubt very much it is just a set of brakes. It could be a broken line, calipers, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, ABS unit among some of the possibilities.

If you are really set on buying it, I would have someone check the car first and give you an estimate before you commit to the car. If it was a simple repair, the car would not be for sale.

My suggestion is to walk away and keep looking.

Thanks, I need a car but cannot afford a new one or fairly new one. So I am looking for a Camry under $2,000.00. I think they are one of the best cars on the road.

I agree. They last a very long time and are reliable. They also do not cost too much to fix.
