My brake pedal goes to the floor. All my lights, slip, VCD come on. I have replaced the power booster and I have replaced my master cylinder. We have bled off brake lines at the tires and at the ABS control module. We are getting clear fluid to all the lines but still the pedal keeps going to the floor. My pads in the rear are a bit low. I was told maybe I might need to replace the ABS module but I'm not sure I'm just trying to figure out if there's anything else before I have to spend $600.00 to $700.00. Thank you.

Hi,

If the pedal is going to the floor, either there is air in the system, a leak at some point, or the pushrod between the brake pedal and booster isn't connected or completely out of adjustment.

Even though the brake goes to the floor, do they work at all? Also, even if there is a problem with the ABS, the brakes should work.

Do me a favor. Take a look at the attachments below. They show how the brake booster is replaced and how to adjust the push rod. Let me know if that helps.

I will watch for your reply.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

You are very welcome. The idea that it is still going to the floor doesn't make sense. You could have gotten a bad new master cylinder. However, that is yet to be determined.

I assume the brake master cylinder was bench-bled prior to installation. If there are no leaks and the system has been fully bled, either the piston in the booster isn't moving far enough or the master cylinder is bad.

Here is a video showing how the new master cylinder should have been bench-bled. Let me know if this was done.

Also, here is a video showing how to bleed the brakes:

Let me know. I'm interested in knowing.

Hi,

You are very welcome. I'm glad you got it fixed. You know, I have seen many times people put the left caliper on the right and vise versa. That causes the bleeder to face downward and impossible to bleed.

Regardless, please feel free to come back anytime in the future if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe
