Hey, I am tired of changing my wife brake pads. She keeps driving with her foot resting on the brake pedal. I keep telling her but she said she does not believe in brake maintenance. I've to change her brake pads after seven months. Should I continue or should I quit?

Good morning,

The root cause of failure here is your wife's driving habits. Apparently, she does not care what damage she is doing to the brakes.

You will need to keep replacing the pads as needed or convince her to change her driving habits. You could also take the truck down for a couple of days while you are fixing it and show her that if she would not abuse the truck, it would be on the road much faster.

Thanks for the help Roy. I can still replace her brake pads but she won't change her driving habits and if I take the truck down for a couple of days she will drive mine and I don't want her to wear out my car's brake pads.

Hi again. I was finally able to but a video camera in my wife's car which shows how she rest her foot while driving.

First video was taken six months ago.
Second video was taken three days ago.
I won't repair her brakes this time.

The 2nd video is where her brakes pads start to worn out. Thats why she used both feet to slow down.

Next time I will see her reaction when the brake pads wear out completely and I hope she understand the way to drive next time.

I doubt it. They have their habits and want you to cater to that. LOL

Haha, I won't cater for this anymore. If she ask me to repair her brakes I won't. I will let her find a mechanic by herself.

Do not put your marriage in jeopardy over a set of brakes.
