The brake pedal goes to the floor. About a year and a half ago it had all new front pads rear shoes all new wheel cylinders and a master cylinder and hydraulic fluid. Everything worked perfectly until the pedal suddenly went to the floor. The brake will stop the truck, but not very well.
I inspected all of the wheel cylinders and brake lines for leaks. This is not a rusty truck (no rust). I purchased a brand new master cylinder and nothing changed after complete brake bleeding in the proper order.
Could the issue be the RABS Valve?
1993 F15 rear drive auto 5.0.

Hi,

Does it have ABS? If it does, then chances are there is air in the ABS control unit. See pic 1 for directions.

If it doesn't have ABS, check the booster push rod for adjustment. I attached the directions below (pics 2 and 3).

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions. Note: If the master cylinder is new, bench bled, the brake system was bled, there are no leaks, proper adjustment of the pushrod has been made, and this doesn't have ABS, the new master cylinder may be bad.

This is a symptom that went from everything is okay and normal with a good pedal to dropping to the floor with very little braking.

Hi,

I just read through things again, and rear ABS applies. Also, the RABS valve is involved for b bleeding.

I attached the directions below. I highlighted important areas of concern.

It requires special "Ford" tooling to complete. I looked up the part numbers indicated, and I feel you may want to find someone that has them. They are expensive.

I gave it one more try. I found the right rear drum brake adjusted spring had failed and the adjuster became dislodged. I replaced a couple of parts and the brakes now work normally again.

That makes perfect sense. Chances are one of the brake shoes wasn't seated on the wheel cylinder, correct?
