I know in the old rear wheel drive cars that when you did a brake job, 9 times out of 10 you had to replace the front brakes because that's where most of the braking was at. I have a new car, it is front-wheel drive. By this logic, I should replace the back pads first. Which pads will wear out first front or back?
Just wanting to know before I go to parts store.

Good morning,

The front pads take most of the heat on the newer cars. They always wear out first.

Do not settle for cheap aftermarket pads. Always use high quality name brands so your brakes work correctly.

As Roy stated, use the best quality that you can get. Personally, I buy my pads from Amazon. I get the original equipment ones for the same price as the aftermarket junk that AutoZone and others sell. Also it's not a bad idea to get some wd40 and spray the slide pins with it. That cleans off the brake dust and keeps the caliper from sticking and wearing out the pads faster.
