It’s a wire harness issue with a pin. I want to reconnect the pin myself. Too expensive to take to Honda. This is the info Honda gave me.

Hi,

Do you plan to replace the wiring harness or attempt a repair? If there is only one pin that has failed, you could remove the affected wire from the connector and provide a new connection only to that one wire.

Is it possible for you to take a picture of the connector and upload it for me to see? That would help me come up with a few ideas on the best way to repair it.

I looked through the wiring schematic and found what I believe to be the connector in question. It is connector 133, but the manual doesn't provide the exact location.

So, I attached a pic below. What you are looking for is a gray wire and the connector. Once located, as a fix, have the battery disconnected and cut the gray wire on each side of the connector, I would then solder the wires together and use heat shrink to protect the connection along with electrical tape.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe

Hi Mark, remove the kick panel and the door seal trim. Once that is removed, pull the carpet back and locate the wiring. You should be able to fix it without removing the seat. The care is so new, I rarely see them yet. LOL

I attached two pics below showing how the kick panel (Pic 1) and the seal trim (pic 2) are attached.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

So, would it be around here? I did take off the kick panel and saw the two white connection boxes. I’m going to do this tomorrow. Thank you, thank you. Needed a starting point.

Mark,

No problem whatsoever. Let me know if you find the correct connector. Once you do that, it's really a simple fix.

Take care,

Joe

I think I just need to put the pin back in. Hopefully it’s noticeable. There was a previous repair done to it. So, I should stand out.

The sucky part is that there is a white plastic case over the wiring that I can’t seem to open or get off.

Hi,

Anything to make things a bit more difficult. LOL As far as reinstalling the pin, it has to be soldered; otherwise, you may only have a connection randomly. Also, if it failed once, chances are it will fail quicker the second time it's being used.

Upload a pic of the pin and wiring so I can see what you are dealing with.

As far as the white case, I highlighted two areas. I believe if you gently pry outward on the side, it will open in those areas. See attached which is your pic, highlighted.
