I believe the brake actuator is going bad. It runs frequently, even when the car is off sometimes, I get a ticking sound for a few seconds every 30 seconds or so. Question: How much should I pay to replace this and is a used part a good idea? The new part is over $1,000.00 from the dealership. Used parts are around $400.00 on eBay.

I am attaching the part information below just to make sure we are talking about the same part. The part number is there as well to confirm this.

Also, there is a labor time for this replacement. So that means you can get a good idea on how much this will be by multiplying the hourly rate by the time. So, if they charge $100.00 per hour then this will be around $400.00 in labor, however much the part is.

There is normally nothing wrong with using used parts other than the obvious issues of you don't know what you are getting.

So basically, it is up to you but by the look of a new part over $1,500.00 and the used is $400.00, I would give it a shot for that price difference.

Let me know if you have other questions on this. Thanks
