Hey, so, I just began working on my engine on my var listed above EX model and got a spark plug completely rounded I now need to use an extractor but I need to drill the plug out.

Thats why I want to know the bolt sequence and torque spec of the head, I need to remove the head to clean the parts of the plug that will fall in the cylinder
Thanks !

Before you start how bad is it. If you haven't started drilling yet I dont recommend it just yet you dont want to get anything in the engine.

Youl also need the torque specs for the intake min8fold and the exhaust manifold. And cam caps

Here a tip " Most of the time when a plug gets rounded off its because of using the wrong tool like pliers vise grips or a 12 point socket and the like.I've only ever used 6 point sockets and never had the problem. Good luck

Hey so thanks for the reply and the pic

The hex part of the plug is off, I tried removing the plug with wd40 specialist and only that part came of so I'm stuck with the thread

I tried removing it with a 16mm Spark plug socket at first but yeah it was stuck on there and so it rounded it off? I don't know how
So I finally used a bolt grip deep well socket and that's when the hex part came off

I'm trying to contact a machinist now instead of drilling or anything

Because of that ill need to remove the head I think? So ill probably need all the torque specs I need for that process

Lmk if there’s another way of doing it, thanks !

Yep sound like its in there pretty good
Only do what I'm about to tell you if you think its possible knowing what amount of debris has fallen inside if the debris pile is mostly towards the center this might work for you and most times there isn't as much as might be expected its uo to you if you want to try it or not
Many times this has been done without any risk of harming the engine
. But tread lightly.
So if you didn't move the pistons much during this time
Then it might not need the head removed there's a way to get the debris out of the cylinder . Using a blow gun removes a lot
If you decide to try this. Here's a few alternatives.
You can suck it out with a small vacuum hose.(Compressed air activated vacuum)
Or " I usually just use a blow gun.
Also when you drill its a good idea to put thick grease on the drill and do it at a slower speed to catch all the chips in the grease before they fall inside clean the chips off and replace the grease as often as needed. Same goes for the extractor coat it with grease. It also will require removing the cam to get all the valves closed first.
If you do use a blow gun try to get it pointing towards the cylinder wall so the chips move away from it and up and out the spark plug hole.
Most of them will come out in the first min of doing it. And another a few mins for the rest you should have then all out in 5 mins but keep going till your sure you got them all

Another great tool is a video scope you can insert into the hole so you can inspect it to make sure there's nothing left in there
More times then not
I find that it will come out you'll get it.
If you choose to try this before you start. Be sure the valves are all completely closed youl need to remove the cam so all the valves can close and then you can move the piston 2 inches below or so below tdc for more space in the chamber giving the blow gun more room to work out the small chips through the spark plug hole. Once done cleaning it out youl have to replace the cam and reset the valve timing of coarse

These procedures must be followed closely as to not damage anything during the process and
Keep in mind this is up to you
But this is way better than removing the head if you feel like you dont need to. Beacuse the only thing you remove is the cam to de activat the valves so they close and seal tightly so the particals have nowher to go but out the hole

The good part is the head intake manifold exhust header and pipes wires hoses gaskets Everything stays on
Ive had to use this method a few times over the years it always worked good for me didnt damage anything
If anything these are just good thought food that might help you diced what the next step is best of lck to you in deciding. Hope this helps
