Was in accident. The hood latch is bent inward, and the car hood is dented upward. The headlight bulb is smashed but should be replaceable. My concern is the hood if I straighten there’s nothing to hold it down and I can’t leave it as it is indefinitely even though the car drives fine.

If you're concerned about the condition of your hood after the accident, it's essential to address the issue to ensure the hood is secure and won't pose a safety risk while driving. Here are a few steps you can take:

Assess the damage: Take a closer look at the bent hood latch and the dented hood to determine the extent of the damage. Evaluate if the latch can be straightened or if it needs to be replaced. Additionally, examine the hinges and the surrounding areas for any damage.

Consult a professional: It's advisable to consult with a professional auto body technician or a reputable collision repair shop. They have the expertise and tools required to properly assess and repair the damage to your vehicle. They will be able to provide you with an accurate assessment of the repairs needed and advise on the best course of action.

Hood latch repair/replacement: If the hood latch can be straightened and is still functional, the technician may be able to repair it. In cases where the latch is severely damaged or cannot be repaired, a replacement latch may be necessary to ensure proper hood operation and security.

Hood repair/replacement: Depending on the extent of the dents and damage to the hood, the technician may suggest repairing the hood if it is feasible. In some cases, if the damage is significant, a replacement hood might be necessary. They will consider factors such as cost, availability of parts, and the condition of the hood before making a recommendation.

Headlight replacement: As for the headlight, if the bulb is the only component damaged, it can typically be replaced separately without needing to replace the entire headlight assembly. However, if the headlight housing is cracked or severely damaged, it may require a complete headlight replacement.
