Hello,

You have selected the engine as a 1.4L. However, in the United States they only offered these in 2.4L engine. So, the information below is for the 2.4L.

The body control module is located under the steering column by the left knee, behind the panel.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

I got the BCM replaced which took care of the headlight problems I was having, but now the starter will not spin over. Checked all the relays I could and have current to the starter (12.5 volts). With the ignition in the start position, you can hear the fuel pump kick on but the engine will not turn over. I pulled the starter and checked it manually and it spins over without any problem. Reinstalled the starter, everything seems to be working correctly but now the engine will not turn over. The starter was just replaced about a month ago along with the battery and alternator. I can't find a schematic for the starter electrical circuit to see what I've missed. Any way you can help would be appreciated. Thank you for the location of the BCM, as the info was extremely helpful.

When I turn the key to start position, you can hear the fuel pump come on and hear the starter relay click but nothing else happens. Still troubleshooting. Checked for voltage at the starter solenoid with relay pulled and have no power there. Reinstalled the starter relay nothing happens. Originally had several lighting problems, which when I replaced the BCM, were cleared. All lights work fine now. With the key turned to the on position you can now shift from park to neutral, drive ect back to park without any problems. I removed the starter to bench check it, it spins okay when tested. Reinstalled the starter and the same thing happens - engine won't turn over.

So just to clarify, before you changed the BCM the vehicle would start and drive normal?

Are you getting any codes?

It was a comedy of things that happened all at once. The car was running fine but had issues with the low beam lights and when you turned off the ignition the headlights stayed on regardless of the position of the switch. To turn off the headlights I had to pull the relay out, then the lights would go out. Get ready to start the engine after reinstalling the relay, everything would work as required, except low beam headlights. Troubleshooting brought to the BCM. After changing it out all the lights work fine. Then went to start the engine at which time this last problem occurred. This is the point I'm at right now -- engine will not turnover. You can hear the fuel pump come on momentarily, with the click sound from the starter relay, but the engine will not turn over. I'm still troubleshooting as of this morning. By the way, the headlight switch assembly was changed along with the starter and headlight relays. They all check good as of now. I need a schematic drawing for the starter circuit if you can send it to me would be greatly appreciated. You have been very helpful so far and I want to thank you for responding to this situation regarding my car.

I wonder if the anti theft got triggered while you were changing out the BCM.
Is the security light on or flashing on the dash? Which will explain why it is not starting.

Finally found the problem. Bench checking the starter for the third time noticed it sometimes would stick and would not engage the Bendix. Cleaned the solenoid but that didn't help. Bought a new starter and problems solved engine spins and starts every time. Thanks for all your help with my car.
