I have a new problem with my Z3. I have my traction control light come on an d the ABS light come on when the car is cold, and it has been wet out. Both lights come on and neither system is working. After anywhere from 2 minutes to 10 minutes, the lights go out and the system starts working. I have run a code scan, and it shows nothing stored. If the car has been dry, the lights do not come on. Any ideas?

I agree that a generic scan won't get the to the faults, but if you scan the car with the BMW software that the dealers use (proprietary software specifically for BMW automobiles) then you will get something to work with. I agree that the the wiring and the connectors should be inspected. As the diagnostic usually goes connector, conductor, component as far as a possibility of failure.
