2003 BMW X5 LED lights on dashboard

My led lights on my dashboard have some that do not light so I can't read the message. How do I change them or get them to display so that I can read the messages?

The missing pixels cannot be repaired, replacement of the display is the solution, sorry for the bad news.

Dr Hagerty, as with all mechanics, you immediately jump to the most expensive and easy solution. The problem is the ribbon! Change it and you are good to go. LEDs do NOT go bad as easy and often as you may think.

There is no ribbon to be replaced.
