Automatic Transmission making scraping noise on 5th gear

My Automatic transmission is making a scraping noise when it shifts from the 4th to 5th gear and also the RPM starts going up/down you can also tell that theres no more power and if you hit the pedal by a bit the transmission goes back to 4th gear and everything is fine thats only if I drive in DRIVE mode, if I put the stick back to 4 which is sport mode it doesnt do that at all.

It sounds like to torque converter is coming apart, do to the fact that when you "put the stick back to 4 which is sport mode it doesnt do that at all" which is disengaging the lockup torque converter. Or you may have a bad solenoid, you will need to take it to a transmission shop to have it diagnosed the transmissions are very complicated and I don't think you have the special tools.
