The front brakes completely lock up when car is driven about a mile. Started two months ago. Brake warning light came on. Continued to drive for about another week. One Saturday morning, the brakes locked up sitting at a traffic light. Brakes didn't release for about 15 minutes. Happened again about 7 days later. Almost same scenario.
Drove car to bmw dealership for service. They stated that I had the wrong size tires and needed a sensor for the brake system. I purchased new tires and the needed sensor.
About 4 days later the brake warning light came back on. I took the car back in. The sensor was adjusted. Light went back off.
Another 4 days later the brakes locked up again about 2 miles from my house. Waited about 30 minutes and the brakes released. I immediately drove it back to the service center. I was told that a second sensor was needed. They installed at no cost.
Car was driven perfectly fine for about 3 days. On the 4th day the brakes locked up again after driving a mile. Car was towed back to service center where it now sits.
Any idea of the problem?
