2000 BMW 740 740i sport

I just bought this car it has 104324 miles on it now that summer is comming what oil should I put in it? I seen royal purple full synthetic and mobil 1 now should I go 5w 30 or 10w 30 in hot weather like 100 degrees?

Do not alter the diet of oil from the factory recommendation. 5w/30 is just fine for that motor. In hot weather, I would be more concerned with the cooling system. Dont waste time fooling around with the oil, use any of the nationally known brands. Mobil, Castrol etc. Are all good oils, I leave it up to you as to which one to use, I like the Kendall myself, if you can get it. You might want to look at the history of the repairs done to date and repost, we need to talk.
