1988 BMW 530i How to replace a rocker arm in a M30 engine?

gday id like to know what is involved in replacing a rocker arm on a bmw 530i M30 engine. I would like to do it in place so I am wanting to know if it ias possible to replace without removing head?

Which cylinder? Exhaust or intake?

If the rocker is to be replaced, the engine will need to be removed from the car or the head will need to come off. The rocker shafts are inserted from the back of the head. Removal is inevitable, either the engine from the car or the head off, which ever is easiest for you. You might be able to sneak it in there by removing the cylinder head bolts at the corners (cylinders 1 & 6) and then pushing back the shafts (there are two shafts on each bank) if there is enough room between the engine and firewall.
