My '92 BMW 525i shudders at 45MPH+ while either braking or going over rougher sections of road. The car does not shudder while under that speed nor do the brakes feel in any way unresponsive at any point. Braking is smooth and quick. I just bought the car a week ago and have driven it at 70MPH on the highway without any shudder, the highway was smooth and I did not brake when I tested it then. However, the majority of the time when I brake at 55MPH+ the steering wheel and car shudder pretty bad but they do not shudder all the time when at these speeds. If I brake somewhat hard or hit a rough part of the road at these speeds I get the shudder but can normally correct it by either slowing down for a bit or getting to smoother road. My tire tread is getting fairly low but is not low enough to cause this in my opinion. The handling of the car is very solid apart from this. Any thoughts?

Replace the thrust arms, or just the bushings.
