2003 BMW 525 overheating

When the radiator builds up pressure there is a crackle in or around the thermostat area. I release the pressure thru the pressure vaulve the whose feels like it has no pressure and the radiator starts heating up. What do you think that this could be? Can it be the thermostat or the water pump? Please let me know. Thanks.

Thank you for your donation.

I would start by replacing the thermostat and having the radiator cleaned professionally. Ensure that the system is bleed of air correctly including the heater system.

Were do you check the heater system? You dont thick the water pump is bad?

Hi there,

When bleeding the cooling system, just make sure the heater is on hot so air can bleed out of the heater core, when engine temp is stable, just feel both heater hoses and make sure that they are both hot to touch, and the heater is blowing hot air. I would no be considering a water pump at this stage of the investigation of your problem.
