Hi, I have the work process you provided in a separate thread to replace the valve cover gaskets for the BMW N63 engine. Both of mine are leaking, and I plan to replace the gaskets. Can you please provide the work process to remove and install the fuel injectors, in particular the installation work process: remove, reinstall with pro tips, torque value to seat the injectors into the cylinder heads, etc? I will purchase new fuel injectors.

Hello,

Replacing the injectors is fairly labor intensive to do on these N63s.
One thing you want to pay close attention is to keep everything very clean. It will be ideal if you can work in a low dust area to keep all the internal components clean.

I have attached the complete replacement procedures for the injectors including all the warnings and special care that it will need to perform the task.
It also has all the torque specifications.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Thank you for the extremely helpful tips and procedures. And thank you for offering to answer more questions.

As for now, I feel comfortable ordering the OEM parts for 1 bank including a valve cover gasket kit.

Hi, for bank 2 I followed all work instructions and was able to successfully replace fuel injectors for cylinders 5-8. For bank 1 I followed almost all work instructions. I did not disconnect and evacuate the a/c refrigerant for obvious reasons, and I did not make any wiring harness disconnects from the transmission. In fact, one wire in the same harness extended to the rear of the car I assumed into the trunk to the battery. I was still able to create the minimal amount of room possible to replace the injectors for cylinders 1-4. My local BMW dealership coded the new injectors with the unique numbers from each injector I provided.
