2001 BMW 330 Oil light

I recently changed the oil and filter in my 330xi and my oil light comes on about 30 seconds after the engine is started and stays on for about 30 seconds and then goes off. It only does this when the engine is started, and I have checked the oil level and it is good. What is the reason for the light coming on?
