2001 BMW 330 Ion headlights

My vin # wbaav53451fj69086. Both of my ion headlights flickers on/off when I turn it on. It started doing it a little bit about a month ago. Now it does it as soon as I turn it on. About every 10-20 seconds. I hear a relay or something clicking by the relay box in the engine compartment but cant find it. What do I need to do, where do I need to look. Is it something it a part I can buy and replace. Be detailed as possible please.

When you refer to "ION" headlamps, do you mean Xenon?

The bulbs are prone to the type of failure you describe. They are however somewhat expensive. If the control module or ignitor were to fail, it would be more like the light dont just flicker, they dont work at all or are inoperative intermittently. Try one at a time.
