2001 BMW 330 5 speed to 6 speed conversion

Transmission problem
2001 BMW 330 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I have a E46 330ci on a five speed, would like to put a 6speed in. There are plenty available but cant find out if its a straight swap or there's more to it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It would be a straight swap as long as you are using a 6 speed 3 series (E46) replacement box?

If you intend to change the transmission, the drive shaft might be different length and have a different flange, check this b4 $ changes hands.♥
