Jumpstart not working

Hello, I have a BMW 325, make 2001, 130000 miles approx. I left the lights on last night and emptied the battery. I tried push-starting the car, with no results. I also tried jumpstarting it but that didn't work either. I am wondering what's happening. If it is just that the battery is "dead" can it explain that jumpstarting won't work? Thanks for helping!

Yes absolutely the battery going dead can do what you are describing. Remove the battery and charge it, if it holds a charge, consider yourself lucky, if not, replace the battery. INTERSTATE makes an excellent replacement battery for your car.

Dr. Hagerty thanks a lot. I feel relieved already. I actually didn't see the battery when I opened the hood. Can you tell me where it is located? Is it easy to change?

Yes it is very easy to change the battery on your E-46. It is located in the trunk on the right side under the black plastic tray. First empty the trunk and remove the carpeted piece that covers the spare tire well area, then remove the plastic fasteners that hold the black plastic tray down and remove the tray. It sometimes takes a bit of force to get the tray out. Then remove the battery support and then remove the battery negative terminal first. Be sure to reconnect the vent.
