2006 BMW 325 Service Engine Soon

The other morning I started my car the check engine light popped on and immediately the engine started running rough with the RPM's slowing down to around 500. When at cruising speed it runs fine but when at a stop it idles rough and when I go over 70 mph. Thank you.

The problem that is commanding the Service Engine Soon lamp on is stored in the memory of the engine control module (referred to as a DME) and can be extracted with an OBDII scanning device. 85000 miles on a 2006 vehicle, you must do a lot of driving!
