2003 BMW 325 Rotors

The shop I have used for all work so far on this car says that it is standard to replace the rotors everytime you replace the discs. Is this a common practice? My local mechanic I have used for all other vehicles over the past 15 years disagrees.

Rotors and disc is the same term.I'm assuming you mean replace the rotor everytime you have the pads replaced. And no that is not common practice, that is a waste of money and time. Only replace the rotors if they have become damaged or worn out (i.E warped, worn thin.) . Rotors wear out much, much slower than the pads themselves.
