1995 BMW 325 Coolant Smell

Hi,

I have been smelling a faint coolant smell inside my car while driving. The smell is only inside the car and not under the hood. I am not noticeably losing coolant. I checked my hoses as best I could and found no pinholes. Any reccomendations. I'm getting tired of smelling coolant while driving and worried that the problem may escalate.

It is quite possible the heater core is the source of this issue and an overnight cooling system pressurization should assist you in pinpointing the leak. If the heater core is the bad guy then the overnight pressure in the cooling system should leave a puddle of coolant under the car just under the transmission, Be sure to put something under there to catch it.
