1987 BMW 325 coolant problem

I only drive my car twice a month. Last week I went out and there was a puddle under my car.I touched it and it felt and smelled like coolant. When I checked there was none there so I filled it up again. Drove it for a day or two with no problem. After not driving it for four days I went out and the puddle was there. Any idea what is goin on. My car is always garaged but not for the last month.I live in California. Thanks

Hi there,

The first thing to do is get the cooling system pressure tested, this will locate any external coolant leaks, starthere.

I always agree with Mark, and you may have a water pump failing on you here, when was it replaced last? When was the timing belt last renewed?
