Interior problem
1987 BMW 325 6 cyl 130k miles

I just bought this car. I have limited experience with BMWs and am unsure of what to make of one light in particular: "Brake Lining". The person I bought this from was in the middle of converting it to a track car and so had stripped the interior but said nothing about the brakes. Along with this light, the ABS light is on as well as the Parking Brake light, the parking brake works fine and the brake pedal is spongy, but other than that, I can think of no reason for these lights. It seems that the ABS is working, but I have yet to test it. Any ideas outside of malfunction?

The brake lining light may be illuminated due to the need for replacement of the brake pad sensor(s) The ABS light may be on due to the ABS relay, there is a fusible link inside the relay that can fail. The parking brake light may be on due to the conversion to a "track" car. These faults may also be present for other reasons which are difficult to determine from cyberspace.
