Engine Performance problem
1987 BMW 325 6 cyl Manual 200000 miles

When I start my car in the morning I drive about 2 miles the temperature gauge rises and the engine begins to cut out. I stop and shut the ignition switch off and immediately restart the car the temperature gauge drops to a normal position and the car runs fine. In the afternoon this activity may or may not happen. If it does not correct itself the first time I restart the engine I keep trying and within a few times it corrects itself and I have power to drive to work about 30 miles. It is not overheating as the water temperature is normal. I have changed the oxygen sensor.

There is a wiring connector several inches in front of the starter that gets corroded, can you find it?
