I am having a problem with my turn and hazard warning signals. They were working, then started to work occasionally, then they both went out at the same time. I have purchased a turn signal relay from the Auto Parts store and am trying to figure out how to install it in the correct slot inside the fuse box, OR learn more about the installation process if it is needing to be installed inside the steering column itself.

It is in the steering column and will require removal of the steering wheel. Pop the BMW emblem out with a pocket screwdriver and there is a 22mm nut, remove it and then the surround of the steering wheel comes off with 4 screws that thread in from the bottom. The relay is in there. Replace it and you can then assure it is working and reassemble in reverse order.
