On the way home over Pacheco Pass in California my car overheated about 20 miles away from Pacheco Pass after already going over it. A piece in my car that had all the hoses connected to it broke, so we replaced that. Then after not working we replaced the water pump and thermastat and it still didn't work. Took it to a mechanic and he said it was a blown head gasket. Started taking it apart ourselves about a month ago and replaced the head gasket and had the head machined and tonight finally got it back together. Started it and it started fine after we got fuel back into the system, but now its not pushing water/coolant through and its still over heating after awhile. We're not sure why its not pushing the coolant through. Any ideas?

Could be a blocked radiator or block! Try flushing.

We figured out that the radiator wasn't primed.
Thanks though.
