Everytime I pull away in first gear, the car shakes and judders everywhere. Once I put it into second gear, everything is fine. Could you please let me know if you have any ideas what the problem could be?

The drive shaft is likely to require either rebuilding or replacement. The center support bearing carrier may have failed and will be at the cause of what you have reported here.
