How much would it cost to replace an ignition switch on a 1997 BMW 3-series 318i?

I need to ask a question please, do you mean the electrical portion, or the lock cylinder, or the steering lock assembly? If it is the steering lock (which breaks most of the time) It takes an experienced BMW tech about 2 hours to replace the steering lock and that would most likely include the diagnostic. Is this the answer you seek?
