I had the car started went to turn the car off and the key came right out the ignition and the car was still running? i could not turn the car back off becuase they key will not turn the ignition the key only goes in and comes out. i had to turn the car off by taking the main fuse 15 i think out than the car shut off. what should i do? does the car need a tumbler or an ignition switch or can I fix the problem myself easily? It won't start because i can't get the key to turn so bringing it to a shop and not knowing what i exactly need is bad cause i dont want to not have enough money. any suggestions on what is wrong and what to do?

The key assembly will need to be removed and the ignition lock will require replacement. It is a difficult task and might best be left to a professional.
