I have a Alfa Mito 1.4 tb. After a period of over running(generally down hill slowing toward junctions) I would change down to 2nd/3rd and the car would splutter and start to smoke. I would release throttle and come back on it car stops smoking. I have have the turbo reconditioned, intercooler and relevant pipes cleaned, recent spark plug change, oil service. The issue seems to happen regardless of driving style and doesnt matter if the car is cold of warm.
Thanks

Where does the smoke come from? Is the engine using oil or coolant?

Smoke is coming from the exhaust. The engine is not using excessive amounts of either. It is an Alfa so it uses a bit more oil than most other cars but not overly too much.

It sound sliek the reconditioned turbo is leaking to the inlet side which will cause the engine to burn oil when you are off of the throttle and costing FYI.
