Black ground wire for after market stereo

I installed my aftermarket radio and naturally it came with a black ground wire as well as the other necessary wires to connect everything else correctly. Now, I purchased a harness that I had to match wires to connect everything correctly.
Now, the question is, can I splice the black ground wire in another part of the wire to feed ground to another wire. Only because I don't want to undo the first connection I made. The real question I'm asking is, how many wires can I connect to one specific wire at a time.

Hi,

Wiring is a bit tricky. How many is really based on what it is being used for and the gauge of wiring and the amount of power (amperage) needed. If you are using it just for a ground.

I just looked at the wiring schematic for the basic stereo the vehicle came from (there are several different options). The only black wire I see runs to a speaker. The ground is via a black / white wire. Take a look and let me know if that looks like the wiring you have.

Also, is there a reason you would rather not run a new ground?

What happened to the original ground or is that the issue?

Before I can answer your question, I really need to narrow it down a bit. The vehicle came with many different options.

Take a look at the attached picture and let me know what was in the vehicle originally. That way, I can see how it's wired.

Sound System 6-speaker system circuit (without navigation, with rear seat audio system).
The issue I'm having is I have located the 3 wires for the steering wheel controls. I've managed to connect 2 of them to the KEY1 and KEY2 wires from the back of my double-din car stereo infotainment system. I had spoken directly to the Metra Axxs team about it and they identified the 3 wires coming out of my vehicle as the steering wheel control wires.
Now that I have those 2 wires connected, I need to hook up the last wire to a ground. So I'm looking to see where to do this. My options are to the body or chassis of the vehicle through a electrical connector or to the fuse box terminal by piggy back or directly to the black ground wire connected to the aftermarket radio. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

Hi,

Simply connect it to a body ground under the dash. I would simply find a good ground location, put a crimp connector to the ground wire, and attach it.
