Hello,

Please ensure that you fit new conrod cap bolts.
Tightening torque is
25Nm initial torque
Using an angle gauge tighten the nuts to another 45 degrees
See below for a picture of an angle gauge.

Please let us know how you get along.

Cheers, Boris

Hello,

For the main bearings please observe following bearing installation.

Fit the grooved bearing shells on all the bearings on the cylinder block.

On the bearing caps, place:
The grooved bearing shells onto the bearing caps No. 2-4,
The non-grooved bearing shells onto the bearing caps No. 1-3-5.

Tightening torque is 25Nm initial torque.
Then using an angle wrench tighten an additional 47 degrees +- 5 degrees.

Cheers, Boris

Hello,

Using plastigage, see below picture, ensure that your crankshaft oil clearance, big end and main bearing, is between 0.028 and 0.054 mm.

For your requirements I would suggest using green plastigage which is suitable for oil clearance from 0.025 to 0.076 mm.

How to use plastigage.

Hello,

What size bearings are you using?
Standard or oversize?

Also please measure the crankshaft main and big end journal diameters.
If unsure take the crankshaft to a reputable engineering/machine shop to have the diameters measured. They can then advise as to which size bearings should be used or if the crankshaft needs to be machined to the next undersize to accommodate a new set of bearings.

How to check a crankshaft:
