I'm trying to establish why I have the error message telling me the battery is not charging when it is working fine otherwise. 14.2v at battery when running, 12.6v when not running
Alternator is l3b-he type. Ignition in, battery out plus warning light wire out. What signal should be present on this warning light output, please?
any other clues?
Thanks,
Mick

That info isn't available to me, but id have to assume that battery voltage would come out of that wire and id check for plug damage and continuity in that wire first. Its the gray/white one

Thanks. Any idea where the slate/white wire goes to, is it to a relay or the ecu etc?

The diagram showed it going right to the charge warning light. Seemed strange to me but jaguar does things differently

Thanks. Have proved it's the new alternator not producing the 12v output on the lamp circuit. A 12v singnal on that wire (after disconnecting from alternator) cures it.
