The battery and the alternator have been replaced twice. They also replaced the wire to the alternator. Picked up the car and the drove 5 miles battery light came on. Took it back to mechanic and he said he didn't know what the problem was. Really need help with wife's work car, already put over $1,000.00 in it. We live pay check by paycheck.

Hello,

This could be a problem with the serpentine belt tensioner. If the tension is wrong on the serpentine belt then the belt could be slipping on the alternator pulley causing the alternator to not put out the proper current to charge the battery. In the diagrams down below I have included the factory diagnostic troubleshooting guide for your vehicle's serpentine belt tensioner. Please go through this guide and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
