Hi

Can anyone help me, the car has started 2 days ago revving high when I press the clutch in to stop at a traffic light. The revs go to 3 or almost 4. At times I hear the car engine almost screaming but then comes down after a minute or so at the stoplight. We have changed the battery as we thought it is the battery but battery light still comes on when stopping the car after it revs. There is a whistling noise and there is also a bubbly noise when driving.

what could all this be. Stressing out as she came to a complete stop yesterday.

Hello,

This could be a vacuum leak causing this. Vacuum leaks will cause a vehicle to rev high at idle or the rpm's will be "searching", going up and down. I have included a link for you to go to down below that will explain how to find a vacuum leak.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-an-engine-vacuum-gauge

Please go through this guide and get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex
