When I start my vehicle the red battery light comes on for a few seconds then goes away. Doesn’t come on while driving only when I start the vehicle. Doesn’t seem like it’s the battery because it starts right away, is it a sign my alternator is going bad?

Good evening,

Yes, it sounds like the alternator is worn and is taking a little time to build the charge rate to turn out the light.

I would check the battery voltage when you start it and see how long it takes to get to 14 volts.

Do the test as in the guide and let me know the voltage.
