Hi guys, I have narrowed down my van no crank no start issue. At first turned key click. Not machine gun clicking just click. So replaced starter after jumping did not work. Same result. Had my buddy check it out with meter all good. It fired up once my buddy realized he bumped the positive cable, duplicated no start, wiggled cable, started. My question is, since I cannot find OEM Ford cable, are cables vehicle specific or universal cables work? My apologies just have not ever worked on cables before! Novice!

They are basically universal, the only thing is make sure you get the same gauge and battery cables come in gauges below 4, like 2, 1 and even 0 I believe. Also, make sure you only have like maybe twelve inches too long, just in case in the future you need to repair an end. I would remove the one you want to replace, take it into an auto parts store and match it up and try to get the already crimped end type.
