What is the proper I.D. Of the auxiliary heater hose? Inner and outer diameter. On my vehicle this diameter appears to be 5/8" but the outside is 1". Typically replacement hose is 5/8" inside and 3/4" outside. Could be this was changed from the factory installation but maybe there was a reason for 1" outside diameter from the factory that is important for the rear heater. Insulating value maybe?

Thank you for your reply Ken. Yesterday I had to get in to town so after conferring with a mechanic or two we opted for 5/8" ID and 3/4 OD. This seems to be a common automotive application so the plan is to put pipe insulation on these auxiliary heater lines to boost the heat in the van. Thank you for your response. As long as I have to drive these old beaters, I will probably be looking for more help.
