I cannot locate the torque converter clutch solenoid. Is it external or internal? Do you have an image of the wiring harness so I can identify it? This code keeps coming back whenever I drive it on the freeway. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello,

01192 - Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch
01192 - Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch: Mechanical Malfunction

Possible Symptoms.
Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch slipping

Possible Causes.
Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch faulty
Valve Body faulty
Internal Failure in Transmission

Possible Solutions/
Check Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch Slip

It can be checked with a suitable diagnostic tool.
Road test the vehicle and check live data from input and output shaft speed sensors.
In fourth gear, converter clutch locked, the in and output speeds should be very similar, no more than 50 RPMs difference.

A common issue is a worn valve body causing hydraulic pressure loss.

The lock up solenoid is located on the valve body inside the transmission oil pan.

A good video on the 4-speed automatic transmission.

This video is for a transporter, but the transmission is very similar.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Boris
