Transmission won’t engage in any forward gear, and doesn’t engage in reverse either.

I changed transmission fluid and filter, but that didn’t solve the issue.

If this is an electronic transmission, I think the issue could be a fuse that needs to be replaced but I don’t know.

I didn’t check any transmission linkage.

Please provide me with your expert recommendations.

Thanks

Hi,

The transmission has what is called a transmission range sensor. That is what tells the computer which gear to be in. If there is a problem with it, often times the gear indicator will not show or all gears will be lit. Is anything like that happening? When you shift the gears, does the indicator show the correct gear?

As far as the shift cable, I attached a pic below of it. It is on the top of the transmission, driver's side. Have a helper shift through the gears while you watch to see if it is moving.

Also, let me know if there are any strange noises when you place it in gear and if this happened all at once.

Take care,

Joe
