To get the transmission fluid out of the transmission, the repair manual says to disconnect the cooler line below the radiator and start the engine in neutral. When I do that, no Pill pumps out the line. What would cause that besides a clogged line or just being out of oil?

Why not just drop the transmission pan? That way you can change the filter as well.

I did that as well, it has no filter. I just got the car, and the guy I got it from said the tyranny was bad. The first thing I did was check the fluid. It was very dark and smelled burnt. I was hoping that was the problem. But if the oil doesn't pump through to the cooler I can see why it's burnt. I want to find out if there is a pump in the tranny, or something else to keep it from pumping
