Makes a weird sound on the gear shift like if I was to be pressing and releasing the button. While doing so the back light turns on and off. It only happens on park when the light is on. If I press the brake it stops. See video.

Good morning,

The video did not come up.

Can you resend the video for me to view?

What light?

Not sure if it’s posting correctly. But it doesn’t happen often. If the night lights are on is when it happens. The one that is turning off and on with the noise is the backup light the long on top.

Thank you.

When that noise happens, can you feel it in the console? It sounds like the interlock solenoid.

Yes I can. Is that bad? Does it need to be replaced right away?

It sounds like the interlock solenoid, but the question is why is it happening?

I attached a wire diagram for you to view. The body control module is what controls the system based on inputs from the car.

Can you see if there are any codes in the system? If you do not have a scan tool, a parts store will read them for free.
