My auto headlights turn on when I put the car in to gear and put my interior lights in night mode during the day. Then the message center says "service vehicle soon". I replaced the ambient light sensor, I have reset the BCM with no change. I am down to thinking either a fault with the headlight switch, because it will not do this if I start the car with the headlights in manual "on" mode. That or replacing the BCM? Because I have a secondary issue of the left turn signal chiming while trying to turn left, also it likes to chime when it ever feels like it. Just one chime on the road, every so often.

So before I start pulling parts and really messing up my car, I need advice on what to do next, as well as if it is the BCM do I need to have it programmed or can I just swap it out? Thanks!

A mechanic will need to scan for codes to check the BCM which may be the problem. Dealers are the only ones that can program BCM's

I have had it scanned and it is not throwing a code. Which is another reason why I suspect the BCM. My fog lights were cut and I should get a code for that but I do not. What if I got a BCM from a salvage yard, would I still need to have it programmed or would it at least make it to the dealer to get it done?

All BCM's have to be programmed they are VIN number specific. If a mechanic scans for codes it should show up not an auto parts scanner it will not read it. It could also be your daylight sensor on dash.
