Hello,

I just had my alternator replaced and once replaced the voltage gage went to just under 16. After driving for about 5-10 miles to voltage gage went down to 12.

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM! I would make a donation, but I have put some much money into trying to get this problem fixed I have nothing more to give right now. Any Help is greatly appreciated.

What is the problem?

German cars have finicky electrical systems, I suggest you have the car tested, typically this can be done for free at an Advance Auto or some such, I am biased as I work there but we do free basic charging system tests.

Also if you can pull the alternator out of the car we can put it on an independent bench tester. As for the voltage regulator you should see if you can test it with a multimeter, assuming you can find the correct resistances.
