Wow what a great site you have, Thanks for it.

On my audi the engine cooling fans come on all the time (even after a short drive) and then they stay on for at least 10 to 15 mins after I turn car off. The engine temp is ok. This happens even if I run the car for only 5 mins. But the car runs fine. It seems as if one of the fans may be inop. As I tried turning that fan by hand and it hardly turns. Your help is greatly appreciated

Both fans shoudl turn with same resistance with vehicle off. If it can barely turned by hand that is defintely bad.

Check the relay and make sure it is not sticking.

Chances are more then likely taht the coolant temperature switch is missreading causing the fans to come on so early and stay on for so long.
